One Life at a Time

PART I

Toward the end of 2016, as gun violence in Chicago reached its highest levels in 20 years, a group of Chicago area faith, business, community, non-profit, civic and government leaders met to explore the common question they asked themselves: “Is there more that can be done to address the root causes of the violence we are experiencing?” From these conversations, Together Chicago was born. Join me this week as I talk with one of the co-founders of Together Chicago and learn more about what it takes to begin to turn levels of violence around by first touching hearts.

PART II

As families in and near Chicago continue to mourn their recent losses due to gun violence and communities seek to heal, we continue our conversation with Michael Allen, Co-Founder of Together Chicago. In part two of this program, we’ll look at the core community efforts of Together Chicago and, hear the stories of life-change happening regularly on the ground. Seeking to reduce the violence in Chicago, one heart, one life at a time…that’s the focus this week onMissions Today.
