Luke Perkins
All Professions. One Mission.
He was born and raised in the church and came to Christ at an early age. As a young man, he had the opportunity to go on multiple mission trips to Haiti. Ultimately, he and his family were called to serve there. Though he faced being kidnapped and the ravages of natural disasters, God used him there in a powerful way. Now, he is helping people from all different careers find a way to the mission field. All professions, One Mission, this weekend on Missions Today!
"As we look at the world today, you know, the idea of being able to go somewhere on a missionary visa is an idea that is almost gone at this point. Most of the world is closed to official 'missions work'. At the same time, God created work. Work is good. Work is fundamentally good. It's a great way to glorify Him. We're called to glorify Him in all that we do and certainly work is part of that. So as we thought through that, we thought man, could we leverage the whole body of Christ and deploy them out to the places that we can't send typical missionaries like me with a Bible college degree and a seminary degree? Could we maybe leverage them to help get out and get after the work of finishing up the Great Commission?"
